BRACKENRIDGE

I have been breeding Golden Retrievers since 1983. I am a small family kennel. I live with my husband, dogs and my Ragdoll cat. Zak is a Blue Bi-Colour Ragdoll. I also have a salt water tank with Seahorses and Clown fish. We live on 50 acres of fields and bush just outside Ottawa. We are 3 minutes away from a sandy beach on the Ottawa river. The dogs are house dogs. Their preference is the couch in the family room!! I am involved in conformation, obedience, agility, field and Therapy Dogs.

My first Golden - Ambertrails Golden Bracken, earned a Dog World award with her CD. She went on to earn her Obedience Trial Championship. My Brackenridge's I'm Bracken Too also earned a Dog World award and a High in trial in her CDX title. I have bred Goldens invoved in various activities : Guide Dogs, Obedience dogs, Field dogs, Therapy dogs, and family pets.

I am a founding member of The Ottawa Valley Golden Retriever Club. I have served on the board for several years . I am also a member of The Golden Retriever Club of Canada, The Canadian Kennel Club, The Ottawa Kennel Club and Ottawa Therapy dogs.

My breeding bitches are cleared for hips, elbows, heart and eyes. Eyes are cleared every year. All my puppies are sold on CKC non-breeding contracts. This can only be lifted under certain circumstances. If at any time a family cannot keep the puppy or dog it has to come back to me. I want to know where my puppies are going. I have a questionnaire for families to fill out so I can place the right puppy in the right home. My vet has looked after my dogs since I started breeding. The puppies are born and raised in the family room. When they are old enough they can play in the puppy playground attached to the family room.

I have 5 girls at this this time. Chara is 10 yrs old and visits CHEO. Jaz is 9 and also can visit CHEO but usually does READ in the local school. My 3rd Bracken is 3 and is also a Therapy dog. Bokeh is also 3 and is also a Therapy dog.

Caper is my puppy from Bracken's last litter.
